I'm Shan Wright—wife, mom to 4, Registered Nurse, and Holistic Nurse Coach. I've been where you are: burnt out at bedside, struggling with postpartum anxiety, feeling disconnected from God and my family, and wondering if this exhausting cycle was just "how it is" for nurses. After burning out in bedside nursing, I realized I couldn't pour from an empty cup. Hi Nurse friend,
February. The month when the world celebrates love with cards, chocolates, and flowers. But for so many nurses in the trenches of burnout, love feels like something we give away but never quite know how to receive. We pour ourselves out shift after shift, caring for everyone but ourselves, all while a quiet voice whispers we're not quite enough. Not worthy enough. Not deserving enough.
But today, I want to remind you of the most profound truth that exists: God's love for you isn't based on your productivity. It's not earned by your perfect charting or how many extra shifts you picked up. His love isn't measured by how many lives you saved or how well you held it together when everything was falling apart.
God's love for you is unconditional. Unfathomable. Unrelenting. Unmeasureable. Amazing.
And it's already yours.

Welcome back to Beat Nurse Burnout.
In Part 1, we heard Ondrea Lynn’s powerful testimony of trauma, spiritual searching, and finding true freedom in Jesus. Today, we’re continuing the conversation — and we’re going to talk about something deeply relevant to so many nurses:
The connection between burnout, stress, and our bodies.

As nurses, we know this intellectually: Chronic stress → cortisol dysregulation → emotional eating → metabolic changes. But knowing the science doesn’t always heal the pattern.
What Ondrea discovered — and what she now teaches — is that lasting physical transformation must begin spiritually. When the nervous system calms, identity is restored, and coping shifts from survival to surrender, the body finally feels safe enough to change.
Ondrea is a speaker and author of the book, ‘The Christian Women’s Weight Loss Victory Plan (How to Defeat the Enemy and Transform Your Body).’ Ondrea has helped thousands of women reach their personal health and wellness goals and improve their physical and nutritional health, as well as their emotional and spiritual well-being.
