I'm Shan Wright—wife, mom to 4, Registered Nurse, and Holistic Nurse Coach. I've been where you are: burnt out at bedside, struggling with postpartum anxiety, feeling disconnected from God and my family, and wondering if this exhausting cycle was just "how it is" for nurses. After burning out in bedside nursing, I realized I couldn't pour from an empty cup. I sought the Prince of PEACE and charted my way to whole-body wellness through simple, faith-based holistic practices—and I'm excited to share them with you!

Do you feel stuck? Stuck in the stress cycle? Stuck in burnout even? (maybe you don't call it burnout, but it is) Remember, a chronic stress load leads us to the land of burnout and there are other cities along the way and others that border burnout that we live in like...exhaustion, anger, anxiety... what IF, what you are afraid of is keeping you stuck there??

Hi Intentional Wellness Warrior!Does life seem to be going so fast and even that the ground might fall from underneath?? Does your foundation feel shaky? Today’s guest knows about that and knows how to speak to it. She has built a firm foundation in her life and mentors moms and families to do the same! As the founder of MomsMentoring, Linda has enjoyed teaching and mentoring young mothers at a fascinating season of their lives. Her passion is to see women, applying the Bible’s wisdom to their lives, become all they are meant to be, while building Christian families and thriving marriages. After almost 20 years, the learning is compiled in her book Wise Moms, published September 2024.
Linda also enjoys helping her husband Lloyd facilitate couples’ events with the Halftime Institute, and has co-written a book called Halftime for Couples. She loves learning about and encouraging others around building a second half of life that is fun, intimate and meaningful.

Hey Intentional wellness Warrior, 
Fear, worry, fright, nervousness, anxiety, panic, agitation, distress- fear. It's all the same and the enemy of this world wants us to feel it all. When we let it take over we live stuck, comfortable, still, quiet, complacent, scared. The Word of God tells us some will say 365 times, do not be afraid. You may listen to this episode months from now or even years, but this week we saw fear and remembered courage.
You see, the darkness and evil of this world operates in fear. These principalities and demonic forces that we contend with thrive in fear and want to drive people to fear. So when courageous faith takes a stand it is a threat to them. Violence and tragedy ensues. But we do not live for this time on earth, but we live for eternity. So, we do not fear, but we move forward in the face of fear - that's courage. Take courage, friend- because HE is WITH YOU. So today's verse is:

Hey Intentional Wellness Warrior,
Today we’re leaning into a topic we know all too well: stress. BUT, we know it SO well, we ignore it, don’t see, deal with it. Something we know to be true- stress is present, but I don't hear in real conversations people being honest about their stress and health connection. Specifically, the way stress is making nurses, healthcare providers, caregivers—moms like you and me—sick.
This isn’t just about “feeling stressed.” We’re talking about what happens when stress stays in your body. Chronic stress → chronic inflammation → chronic disease. And the scary part? Sometimes we don’t even notice it’s happening, because we’re so used to carrying it all. And then we have a health issue and don't see the stress that's contributing or at the root even. Let’s unpack how this stress is making us sick and even my own healing story!

Hi Wellness Warrior! Today, we’re diving into something that doesn’t always get talked about enough—but when you experience it, it can shift everything. I’m talking about somatic work.
You see, so often as moms, nurses, caregivers—we live in our heads. We push through stress, we manage schedules, we deal with emotions by tucking them away and just keeping on. But our bodies… they hold the story. They hold the stress, the trauma, the unspoken emotions.
That’s where somatic work comes in. It’s a way of gently reconnecting to the body, releasing what’s been stored, and creating space for peace and healing. And the benefits are powerful: reduced anxiety, improved sleep, nervous system regulation, and even more clarity in how you show up for your life and your people.
And today’s guest, Shay Joyner, knows this first-hand. She’s a new author and someone who courageously stepped into somatic practices—and through it, she experienced a huge holistic breakthrough. Shay Joyner is a daughter of the most high king first and foremost. A mother to 4 and a wife to 1. Living within her comfort zone for the majority of her life, the Lord in his sovereignty and goodness, brought her through some rough patches & seasons, revealing to her the real strength she has, through Him and that there is far more that God has in store for her than she could ever think or imagine.
