Hey, I’m Shan Wright, daughter of the King, wife, mom to 4, RN, Wellness coach. I know very well what it feels like to want to live well, but completely overwhelmed, anxious and about to lose it with my very #blessed full life! I let these feelings take control which led to more chaos, more frustrations and deeper disconnections to my people and myself.

After realizing I can’t pour from an empty cup and postpartum anxiety, I sought the Prince of PEACE and tracked my way to whole body wellness. By courageously taking action into simple holistic solutions for accountability and intentional living, I found the way to peace and I’m so excited to share it with you!

Hey Intentional Wellness Warrior,
Today we’re leaning into a topic we know all too well: stress. BUT, we know it SO well, we ignore it, don’t see, deal with it. Something we know to be true- stress is present, but I don't hear in real conversations people being honest about their stress and health connection. Specifically, the way stress is making nurses, healthcare providers, caregivers—moms like you and me—sick.
This isn’t just about “feeling stressed.” We’re talking about what happens when stress stays in your body. Chronic stress → chronic inflammation → chronic disease. And the scary part? Sometimes we don’t even notice it’s happening, because we’re so used to carrying it all. And then we have a health issue and don't see the stress that's contributing or at the root even. Hi Wellness Warrior! Today, we’re diving into something that doesn’t always get talked about enough—but when you experience it, it can shift everything. I’m talking about somatic work.
You see, so often as moms, nurses, caregivers—we live in our heads. We push through stress, we manage schedules, we deal with emotions by tucking them away and just keeping on. But our bodies… they hold the story. They hold the stress, the trauma, the unspoken emotions.
That’s where somatic work comes in. It’s a way of gently reconnecting to the body, releasing what’s been stored, and creating space for peace and healing. And the benefits are powerful: reduced anxiety, improved sleep, nervous system regulation, and even more clarity in how you show up for your life and your people.
And today’s guest, Shay Joyner, knows this first-hand. She’s a new author and someone who courageously stepped into somatic practices—and through it, she experienced a huge holistic breakthrough. Shay Joyner is a daughter of the most high king first and foremost. A mother to 4 and a wife to 1. Living within her comfort zone for the majority of her life, the Lord in his sovereignty and goodness, brought her through some rough patches & seasons, revealing to her the real strength she has, through Him and that there is far more that God has in store for her than she could ever think or imagine.
